Advisor to international shipping company in controlling growth, while aggressively expanding into new markets.
Situation:
Company President needing advice on how to keep the company's momentum in growth and expansion. Needed direction on new location set-up, review of additional provider contracts, and ongoing financial and management oversight. Large cash outlays, hiring of new staff and management.
Action:
After determining the feasibility of the new business location, territory purchases were made. Detailed and complex contracts were reviewed prior to closing. Once due diligence was underway, various items needed to be resolved. Forecasts and budgets were put into place to ascertain break-even point and needed cash requirements.
Results:
Company closed on the purchase of the new territory, along with obtaining financial support for 75% of the purchase amount. New location was staffed, office space leased, and budgets finalized for ongoing operations.
